- What should I prepare in advance?
- Please check our Kimono Plan page (available from September to June) or Yukata Plan page (available from June to September) to see what is included in each set. During winter, we offer haori (coats) and stoles for an additional 500 yen (550 yen including tax), but you are welcome to bring your own.
- How long does hair styling and kimono dressing take?
- The time it takes to choose a kimono varies depending on the individual, but typically, selecting a kimono takes about 5 minutes, dressing takes 15 minutes, and hair styling takes another 15 minutes. In total, we recommend allowing just under an hour from kimono selection to heading out. Please note that during busy periods, such as weekends or peak tourist seasons in Asakusa, the shop may be crowded, so we appreciate your patience.
*Please note that if kimono selection takes longer than expected, the dressing order may be adjusted.*
- Are there sizes available for kimonos?
- We offer sizes suitable for women up to around 170 cm and men up to around 180 cm, so please rest assured.
*For those taller than these heights, dressing is still possible, but please be aware that the ohashori (folded hem) may not be visible.*
- Can you hold onto my clothes and belongings?
- We can keep your belongings (excluding valuables) until the final return time of 5:00 PM. If you are traveling with large luggage, you can keep your valuables in a pouch and enjoy a light and easy stroll around Asakusa.
- Do you have hair accessories available?
- Hair accessories are included in the full kimono set. If you are renting individually, we offer a wide range of hair accessories for 500 yen each. Feel free to choose one that matches your image.
- Can I choose my hairstyle?
- You can choose from styles such as a French twist, updo, or half-up style. For safety reasons, we do not use hair irons or hot rollers in our shop, and we also do not allow customers to bring their own for use.
- How do I return the kimono?
- Please return the kimono to our staff by the final return time of 5:00 PM on the same day. You are, of course, welcome to come back to SiLK to change back into your clothes.
- Until what time can I rent a kimono?
- Please return the kimono by the final return time of 5:00 PM on the same day.
- Can I use the store’s facilities when undoing my hairstyle upon return?
- We do not provide access to our dressing tables or other facilities for undoing hairstyles upon return. We apologize for the inconvenience.
- What payment methods do you accept? Can I use cashless payment?
- We accept cash, credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, and others), electronic money (Rakuten Edy, WAON, NANACO, QUICPAY), transportation IC cards, and QR code payments (PayPay, auPAY, RPay, and others). Please make your payment at the reception desk on the day of your visit.
- I left something at the store, what should I do?
- Please contact us by email or DM, and we will look for your lost item. We carefully store lost items, so please come to the store to pick them up. For safety reasons, we do not offer delivery services for lost items. Thank you for your understanding.
