Can I visit without a reservation and rent a kimono on the same day?

We recommend making a reservation in advance, but same-day rentals may be available. Availability depends on our schedule, so please call us before visiting or feel free to ask our staff.

Can I rent a kimono if I don’t speak Japanese?

Yes, absolutely! You can enjoy our kimono rental service even if you don’t speak Japanese. Our staff will assist you so that you can feel comfortable and enjoy your kimono experience.

Can you recommend sightseeing spots around Asakusa?

Of course! Please feel free to ask our staff for recommendations. We can introduce popular attractions such as Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street, as well as hidden gems and local food recommendations. Enjoy exploring Asakusa in your beautiful kimono!

How long does it take to get dressed in a kimono and have my hair styled?

The time required to choose a kimono varies from person to person. On average, choosing a kimono takes about 5 minutes, dressing takes about 15 minutes, and hairstyling takes about 15 minutes. Please allow approximately one hour from choosing your kimono to being ready to go out.

Our shop can be very busy on weekends and during peak sightseeing seasons in Asakusa, so we recommend allowing plenty of time for your visit.

Please note that if you need more time to choose your kimono, we may adjust the order of the dressing process.

Do you have different kimono sizes?

Yes. We have kimono sizes suitable for women up to approximately 170 cm (5’7″) tall and men up to approximately 200 cm (6’7″) tall.
For guests taller than these heights, dressing may still be possible, but the traditional folded section at the waist (ohashori) may not be visible.

Can I leave my clothes and other belongings at the shop?

Yes. We can store your belongings, except valuables, until our final return time of 5:00 PM on the day of your rental.

Even if you have large suitcases or other luggage, you can keep your valuables in a small drawstring bag and enjoy sightseeing around Asakusa without carrying heavy bags.

Do you provide hair accessories?

Hair accessories are included in our full kimono rental set. If you rent items individually, hair accessories are available for an additional fee of ¥500 per item. We have a wide selection, so you can choose one that matches your preferred style.

Can I choose my hairstyle?

Yes. Please let our staff know your preferred style, such as an updo or half-up hairstyle.
We also offer the following styles for an additional fee:

• French twist-style updo: ¥1,100
• Traditional Japanese updo for adults (Shin-Nihongami): ¥5,500

How do I return my kimono?

Please return your kimono to our staff by 5:00 PM on the day of your rental. You are also welcome to return to SiLK to change out of your kimono before returning it.

Can I bring my own kimono for dressing and hairstyling?

Yes, we may be able to provide dressing and hairstyling services for your own kimono. Please contact us by phone in advance to discuss your requirements.
Our service prices start at the following rates, including dressing and hairstyling:

• Tomesode (formal kimono): ¥11,000 (tax included)
• Homongi (semi-formal kimono): ¥8,800 (tax included)
• Furisode (long-sleeved formal kimono): ¥11,000 (tax included)
• Shichi-Go-San children’s kimono dressing: ¥6,600 (tax included)

How long can I keep the kimono?

Please return your kimono by 5:00 PM on the day of your rental.

Can I use the shop’s mirrors or dressing tables to undo my hairstyle when returning the kimono?

We are sorry, but our dressing tables and mirrors are not available for use when returning your kimono.

What payment methods do you accept? Can I pay without cash?

We accept cash, credit cards (including VISA, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express), electronic money (including Rakuten Edy, WAON, nanaco, and QUICPay), transportation IC cards, and QR code payments (including PayPay, au PAY, and Rakuten Pay).

Please make your payment at the reception desk on the day of your visit.

I left something at the shop. What should I do?

Please contact us by email, and we will look for your lost item. We will keep any items we find safe, so please collect them directly from our shop.

For security reasons, we do not offer shipping for lost items. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Please notify us by phone or email no later than 7:00 PM on the day before your reservation.

For cancellations made on the day of your reservation, a cancellation fee of 100% of the plan price will apply.

For group reservations of five or more people, a cancellation fee of 100% of the plan price will apply if the cancellation is made after 7:00 PM, five days before the reservation date.
